The Name is Breitbach,
But It Means Quality

Safety First: Always

Breitbach Construction Co. puts its safety program into action on a daily basis.

The personal safety of our people, contracting partners, clients, and those within the vicinity of the areas we work is our top priority. At Breitbach Construction Co. we view safety and accident prevention as being the most vital service we provide.

Our AWAIR Program

Since the establishment of our company over 80 years ago, our safety program has continually evolved. Today it is maintained as A Workplace Accident and Injury Reduction (AWAIR) Program that works alongside the most stringent OSHA regulations. Our AWAIR Program is implemented under the direction of in-house Safety Director, Dustin Breitbach and our Safety Committee.

Activities associated with our AWAIR Program include: a site-specific safety orientation for every construction job covering the safety requirements associated with each project; weekly jobsite safety toolbox meetings; ongoing jobsite safety audits; quarterly Safety Committee meetings; and a comprehensive annually review of our entire safety program.  We also participate in STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) and the MNOSHA Partnership through ABC of MN/ND.

Accountability by All

Fortunately, at Breitbach Construction Co. safety is not left for a single person or group of people. Our written safety program is transferred from paper to jobsite everyday by every employee. We achieve this by creating a safety-first culture that is founded on a pro-active approach to training, communication, and subcontractor selection.

At Breitbach Construction Co. safety starts at the point of employment with our firm. All new hires, regardless of experience, start their first day by attending our comprehensive company safety orientation course. Each employee is also trained in a range of areas in order to meet the demands of our differing job sites and construction phases. Additional specialized training and certifications are required for project superintendents, crane operators, and those working on elevated platforms.

When it comes to jobsite safety, we require sitewide accountability and total involvement by all, including our subcontractors. Each of our construction projects receives dedicated safety management and planning resources to prepare a site-specific safety orientation. That orientation must be completed by our own employees as well as any subcontractors who will be on site.

It’s About Family

As a family business thriving in a labor-intensive industry, Breitbach Construction Co. understands that we are responsible for supporting not just our employees, but their families as well. We consider our employees to be a part of the family. For these reasons we make it our mission to put safety first… ALWAYS.

While it is part of our job to provide services under ever changing circumstances; we will never compromise the safety of our personnel or the personnel of our subcontracting partners. Our #1 priority is that everyone goes home safely each day.
